Every week, I let you guys in on my world of fashion & style. This week i’ll be giving a glimpse into the another  great part of being in the fashion industry, attending events and networking with amazing people who share same passion as you.

Last Saturday I joined Julio Angel Hair Studio over in Verona, NJ for their 5th anniversary.I haven’t been out in a while, especially on a Saturday night, so it was nice being able to relax my mind. I had so much fun meeting new people, and chatting away with fans and lots of and lots of Snaps lol .. The finger food was BANANAS, best pizza I’ve had in long time. For his guest he had goodie bags & yummy cupcakes. One things that caught my eye right away was the decor, I love walking into a salon and feeling that sense of elegant design. The salon is full service; nails, facials, makeup and of course, hair! Julio & his staff are so energetic. Now the question is how good are they? I was long overdue for a much needed haircut, so I stopped by earlier this week. I really was impressed by Julio’s knowledge, he showed me some tricks to style my hair. I learned that I have been parting my hair the wrong this whole time lol..I’m confident my hair will grow with a better shape! Another super important when booking your appointment with a stylist, make sure you talk to them tell them what you like and dislike. We sometimes think that hairstylists can guess what look we want, but in reality you have to make the final call since you know what feels best. I’m glad I visited the salon and left very satisfied. I hope you guys take a minute to visit their page and the salon. If you do, you’ll l be greeted by a cup of cafe…they totally scored brownie point with this coffee lover.

Another great event I got this attend this Saturday was for Dove x Simply Stylist! I must say this was the highlight of my month! Being able to share the same room with phenomenal people, like June Ambrose, former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo and some of the op bloggers of NYC…. my head was in cloud nine. I felt truly honored. All I could say to myself was wow I’m really here, at the same table with all these influential women. This dinner was the opening event for Simply stylist’s fashion & beauty conference, aimed at inspiring women to do what they love. These workshops are held in LA, NYC and Chicago.

Simply Stylist partnered up with Dove, who introduced us a new product called “Dry Spray.” How many of us hate the white stains on our clothes after wearing deodorant!?  I must say after using Dove’s Dry Spray… I will never go back to the old deodorant, not one stain! They have a selection of fragrances, and the packing is super cute and light for traveling. I know I sound like a commercial, but i seriously recommend you pick one up the next time you’re at your local pharmacy.

The last thing I wanted to share with you guys was the amazing food we got to experience at yesterday’s dinner. The dinner was held at Saxon and Parole. As of now one of my fav places in Soho. The ambience was super classy. The staff was very pleasant & servicing. I chatted with one of the manager.. And I will be visitsing them very soon!

This past Weeks have been hard due to family matters, but there will always be obstacles when pursuing your dreams. The best part is the feeling of satisfaction when being able to overcome them. As they say get dressed, show up and never give up. Doing what you love is super important in life don’t wait for tomorrow to start dreaming and believing. It took me a long time to realize my potential and my value. Today I only wish to grow more .. I just realize there is so much more out there (Speaking of which did you guys know you can reserve you’re parking space online and pay less! For the first time in history I only paid $17 for parking space in NYC) I can’t stop working hard now and I must work harder. As someone told me last night, your work is always being watched, by one or many someone is always looking. I invest everything I have and even what I don’t have to make the brands that support me my all.. I want to really thanks Dove for making this happen and Simply Stylist for inspiring us WOMEN to commit and stay loyal to who we are .. Remember it might take you time to get places, but those places won’t come to you. It’s like chess, YOU make the move!

Hope you guys can learn a bit from all this amazing info and enjoy the pictures of both events! Xo K

Thanks for this inspiration. I needed to read this. I need to get to it, but sometimes I just don’t know exactly how. I pray the LORD leads me in the right direction, but I have to be ready to do whatever HE wants me to do.
I LOVE reading your blog. Keep up the good work missy poo!
