The Woods

I remember the first time Denisse and I attempted to shoot this dress .. I was feeling so blah and I disliked every picture. Denisse says to me, I don’t think it’s you, the problem I think is the location..Why don’t we shoot this dress in the woods? Woods? I said, interesting. I’m not doing engagement pictures or a pregnancy shoot.. But for some reason I didn’t dislike the idea of being surround by trees and a dress.

It was freezing the morning of and my face can say it all .. I was so cold it was hard to focus but finally we got some good shots .. I remember one of the joggers asking me what the occasion was and I said just shooting my engagement pictures. Denisse looks at me liked I was crazy but in my mind I was like no .. Why should we as woman wait for a special occasion to do something special and have a nice photo shoot. Im in a relationship with myself, remember when Carrie had a bridal shower for herself? Only so that her friend would replace her Manolo’s…. pretty much me in a nutshell.. Engaged to myself .. I promise to love me and care for me and be the best to me .. Why do we have to wait for a man to make such commitment .. Why do we wait for a man to call us pretty or beautiful .. Why don’t we just look in the mirror deeply and confirm it ..

This pictures represent what I want 2016 to be, peaceful, filled with success and most important lots of work .. In a way I celebrate a year of working with Denisse and I’m embracing the downfalls of this year as motivation to work harder next year. Promising to myself that everything is going to be ok. Remember your creating a beautiful story for others to see …in the woods or not make it epic.

*insert hand clap emoji* These are such stunning shots! Cheers to getting it done, despite the cold! I had a shoot 2 weeks ago and it was cold and windy in DC. I was completely over it. I wanted to get in my car and go home, but I stayed to finish the shoot. It’s funny because I actually thought of you during that moment and wondered how you do it, especially being in New York 🙂 I’m glad you were honest because these are the things that people don’t see when they look at a finished blog post. I love your comments about celebrating yourself just because … very true and uplifting! Thanks for sharing this!

Yes! I love the dress, the pictures and especially your words or inspiration and wisdom. I’m going into the new year single also. Alone but not lonely. As long as I have JESUS I’m alright and HE will send a special man along in due time, but right now I will just continue to enjoy my time with HIM. *giggles* I’m thinking of getting this dress for New Years Eve. I love flowy girly dresses. Thanks for the idea. Be blessed beautiful lady.

Beautiful shots! I just told my sister the other day that I need to get my “Kyrzayda” hustle on, because You take great shots no matter the weather and I stay complaining about it being too cold or hot, lol! I love your story. You’re such an inspiration because I constantly struggle with my blog an feel like I’m doing enough with it. Keep it up because women like me count on the positivity you bring. I too am engaged to myself and loving every moment of it. Be blessed, beautiful!❤️
