Happy Monday ladies & Gents!
I believe in growth and we all go through different seasons in our lives, transitioning to the next chapter in our journey. You’re no longer in the same place as you were before. Along with all the changes we go through, so does everything else in our world, including Fashion. Even though history repeats itself with all the trends, it changes every season, just like each and every one of us.
I read an interesting article that it’s best to invest in fewer, but more valuable items. A few years back I found myself buying handbags over and over and rarely using them because they became a past trend. So in my closet they lived. As the years went by I had a collection of unused bags. The same went with my shoes- I would buy a pair I saw on sale every week and it became a habit. Fast forward to today and I must admit, I have not one pair of those shoes or handbags in my closet with the exception of some higher brand pieces that I still wear to this day because well, it still is in good condition. I had to face the truth that I loved to shop and bought anything I saw that I said I would wear and they would end up untouched. We invest in trends that don’t last. Don’t get me wrong, if there is something you see and really like, buy it. If you know you are going to wear it, then by all means knock yourself out.  Never stick to the norm. But I definitely think one of the best things to do is to invest in classic pieces, that you know you can wear multiple ways. In the last few years I have been investing in some key pieces that have really transitioned my looks, and I think it shows in my blogs. It is important for me, because those looks translate to a good IG photo and that my friends, is how you build brands wanting to work with you. It’s all about knowing how to balance key pieces with luxury.
Sometimes if you want to be taken serious in this industry you have to give it your all and prove to all outlets that you are here to kill it. This industry is fashion and it’s fashion toward, but let’s not forget, Style is eternal that you can’t buy. Style is the definition of being classy, elegant, hip or chic; It’s you being above all, gracious with your walk and talk- it is what defines who you are.
What’s your definition of style?

For me, style is all about your unique translation of clothing and trends. A lot of people have nice clothing but so few people really get it. I love how effortlessly you mix high and low fashion. I like the idea of investment pieces but I refuse to spend retail on anything – I probably still overshop but that’s kinda my thing LOL. I only try to add pieces that have a interesting point of view or will elevate my wardrobe. You’ve done a great job of building your wardrobe over the past couple years. I really look forward to what you put together 🙂

    You slay everything!!!
This post is actually one of my 2017 goals!! ;P My definition of style is the outward expression of my internal emotional being. I catch myself going through my closet piece by piece saying nope, nope, not feeling that until i get to that one piece that I’m feeling at that moment in time.
